Anyone work for Google?

Hi, I don't suppose anyone reading this works for Google?

Years ago, I registered the domain name through blogger. It's auto-renewed ever since.

They keep e-mailing my personal gmail account to tell me that the domain name has expired and needs renewing, but there's no way to renew it as far as I can tell.

They want me to use the 'administrator account' for the domain. I've never had any such account!

And it seems to be deliberately impossible to get in touch with Google by any method.

If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it!

  1. Hi John, When you purchased your blog domain a long time ago, Google will have created an "Apps" account automatically with a default login for and would have sent to your user email the login details for this account. The domain needs to be renewed within Apps so you need to login to as (or maybe to see it. Try to search for the first ever email you received regarding on your personal user account. See

    1. You gave me the crucial inspiration. I found an email which had been copied to the missing account. It turns out the magic words are I'd never heard of this account before, but it allowed me to reset its password using my gmail account so I think it's all sorted now.

      Thank you so much!

  2. Hi Marc, thank you very much for replying. Google claims that neither of those accounts exist. My gmail account has a couple of e-mails in it about 'google apps being transitioned', but nothing about how to log in. The first e-mail I ever got (20/09/2010) was just a receipt for the $12 fee for registering the domain name. There's never been anything about a second account!

Thanks so much for your time anyway.
